If your Firefox 41 is saying that an extension is disabled because it is not signed or verified, there is a setting to allow it to run anyway. This might not be the problem you're having, but I'll provide the info just in case.

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste xpi and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the xpinstall.signatures.required preference is bolded and "user set" to true, double-click it to switch it to false

By the way, Firefox 41 is set to release soon. If you are on the "beta" track, then you would be moving to Firefox 42 beta. If you want to switch to the "release" track, you can look for the final Firefox 41 on the following page in the near future (I don't see it yet):
