When going into many websites, including N4G.com and Royalroadl.com, my browser will suddenly slow down, and the firefox plug-in container will start rapidly flashing on and off in my task manager, too quickly to manually disable it. The only way to fix this, thus far, has been to stop the page from loading before a certain point.

This is also keeping a lot of videos from loading and causes major slowdown. It only started happening after I updated to the latest version of Firefox, and turning off all plug-ins and extensions did not solve the issue.

My current version is 40.0.3. Anyone know how to easily roll back to the most recent non-problematic version?

Edit: Nevermind, I found the solution!

I went into the plug-ins for Firefox, went to the Options menu for the Shockwave Flash plug-in, and disabled Protected Mode.

For whatever stupid reason, Protected Mode was the thing causing all of the blocked videos and slow-down.

Spread this solution for anyone having similar issues, please!
