What was the recent initial security risk involving Javascript in Firefox?

What was the recent initial security risk involving Javascript in Firefox? I downloaded the suggested "No Script" to be able to allow or forbid scripts on websites. However, this gets a bit frustrating when waiting for pages to download, then realizing I have to allow them to. Do I really need to do this any longer?

Javascript doesn't have any known security risks that haven't been fixed in recent Firefox versions. Perhaps you are thinking of Java, which is full of known security holes and should be disabled, but is not related to Javascript in anyway.

If you were thinking of the problem with the built-in PDF Viewer, that was fixed in the recent Firefox 39.0.3 security update. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2015-78/

Regarding NoScript, I personally like it because I have to visit untrustworthy websites in my work, and coincidentally it blocks annoying ads and sharing buttons. But yes, it requires a LOT of training so if you aren't at least a little bit paranoid about web security, it's probably not the best add-on for you.
