Hello All< 

 I keep having a problem with  Mimestype.rdf file reverting back to original. Situation is that I modified the original Mimestype.rdf and the changes worked!!!! Then I uploaded it to a manual profile on my windows server so it can permanent be the setting I need when my users login and want to save their documents with out dialog box appearing. Everything seems to work fine until I change the profile. Is there any way I can stop MImestype.rdf from reverting back to the original settings. Thanks!!

Please update to the current Firefox 38 release.

The Firefox 24 version that you currently run is no longer supported with security updates.

  • It is important to update Firefox and add-ons to the latest version to get all security fixes.

Note that it isn't guaranteed that you keep changes if you edit a file like mimeTypes.rdf in the profile folder. Firefox might be scanning the Windows registry to detect some settings and change them.

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
