Can I not use as my homepages things like Google that have icons after the "com"? Having trouble with Yahoo and Google.
My two homepages are currently Google and Yahoo login. They usually do not load properly when I start Firefox. Is this because of the extra symbols after the ".com"? So frustrated.

Google's login page uses a separate domain (accounts.google.com) so after that there is always information the site uses to redirect you back to where you were logging in from (e.g., mail, search, etc.). If there is nothing after the .com then I'm not sure where you end up.
Could you describe the problem in more detail? Is Firefox saying it can't find the page, or is the page coming up distorted, or do you get a secure certificate error? More info is better. Thanks.
I notice you have avast! If you are using the Web Shield feature, Firefox may not be able to access secure sites normally until you set up Firefox to trust the "fake" certificates avast! generates in order to be able to filter your secure connections. If you are seeing an unusual volume of certificate errors, then that would be the next thing to check.
Can you attach a screenshot?

- Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
- Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
What is the current home page setting?
Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

What happens is I just see "connecting" up in the top left of my screen. There is no error message per se. What should I do about Avast if that is the problem?
And I just use Google.com not a login page.
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to test for issues with security software.
