vlc plugin (2.2.1.0) for firefox (38.0.1) is not working as i try to stream. both are up to date. all i get is a black screen with the vlc icon on it.
the plugin doesn't work at all. been troubleshooting for hours. a quick google search shows no such problem let alone a solution.

See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Download the current VLC full installer and save it. Remove VLC from your system, reboot, then run the installer.
@fredmcd, thanks for the reply, i did as instructed, the plugin still doesn't stream however, it can play local media files now.
