Why is scrolling suddenly so slow for ~1 wk so far, even tho I turned smoothscroll off and altered some about:config values as per various instructions I found?
Running Win 7 64-bit on an Asus Zenbook. (I read about a similar problem with other Asus models, but it wasn't exactly what's going on here, but maybe there's something about Asus, idk.)
I have the free version of Avira plus whatever Windows default firewalls are, not sure how to check if that's the problem.
I did turn off smoothscroll and hardware acceleration in Firefox options. I checked my computer's control panel, and it still thinks I'm scrolling 5 lines at a time, same as always.
From https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/981140 , I tried this and it had no effect:
"Type about:config in the URL and filter general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS change the value as 1000 and try it.
If, it doesn't work try this
Type about:config in the URL and filter mousewheel.enable_pixel_scrolling and change the value as false"
Please help, going crazy here, thanks!

Two other things I can think of, the config entries may have changed after the update. How to fix preferences that won't save
The second is do you have acceleration in general turned off? Try thisTroubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
The problem actually seems to have solved itself, possibly related to the update you mentioned. I hardly noticed everything going back to normal until I saw your reply!
For what it's worth, I'm 90% sure I did check to make sure acceleration was correct. Thanks, though!

Oh, and as for this one, I did try Firefox in Safe Mode back when I had this problem--I thought I mentioned that in my original post, sorry if I forgot.
Thanks for trying to help, though. I'm just glad everything went back to normal on its own!
