Websites don't load...
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!newtopic/chrome
I am having an error with my browsers (FF & Chrome). I keep getting "No Data Received" errors on websites I visit all of the time. This just started after someone ran over and stole our internet boxes (outside those big things where the wires come into our house) for both Knology/WOW and Charter Communications. We finally got our internet back and no one else is having this error. It is also not happening on the Chrome on my laptop. ONLY on my desktop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome since the internet went out. When I uninstalled, I removed browsing history.
It happens very frequently. Frequently enough to bug the hell out of me. Refreshing works...but sometimes I have to refresh twice if not more to get the page to come up.
it just happened on my website (I own a forum) as well as the website that hosts my site. Both with the "ERR_NO_RESPONSE"

That is what it looks like. I know that there is no downtime or anything as this doesn't happen on my laptop with the exact same sites and version of Windows and everything.
It is always preceeded by long page load times for my 60mbps connection with Charter or 20mbps connection with WOW/Knology.
Here is what I have tried.... Clearing Cache (both browsers) Uninstalling and Reinstalling Twice with Chrome; 0 times with FF. After NOT signing into Chrome when I reinstalled it the last time it has not fixed the problem. Using IE fixes the problem BUT the problem re-imerges when using FireFox (posting in those forums next) disabling all extensions doesn't help using default settings doesn't help. searching theses forums for other solutions + FireFox Support Forums for other solutions that have helped other people... those haven't helped me.
Here are the addresses I am visiting... http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=forums (my host) http://helpmecode.club (mine) These google support forums Redirects cause the issue as well... googled the google support forums and then when I clicked the link, took me to the ERR_NO_RESPONSE page. https://www.invisionpower.com/clients/index.php?s=818357ae7fa43d71a6c0f8ea5d5286de&app=core&module=global§ion=login
I have verified it isn't my internet because it is not happening on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (T-Mobile; M919) with Chrome (not Chrome Beta) on it.
I use Chrome & FF for work and have separate profiles for each computer. Neither profile is affected with Chrome on my laptop.
I'm tired of this error. How should I fix this?

Does it make any difference if you access the sites in a private window (Ctrl+Shift+p)? If that works, you may need to clear cookies for those sites.
Could you double-check your connection setting:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default is "Use system proxy settings" which should piggyback on IE's LAN settings, but you also could try "No proxy" to see whether that makes any difference.
Using the Private Window doesn't help and I have cleared cookies and everything.
IE works fine without these issues. It is Chrome & FF that are having the issue.
Did that but it didn't help.
Is it possible that the sites with problems are where LastPass is trying to log you in? Have you tried them with LastPass disabled?
One way to temporarily bypass extensions is to test the pages in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
Any difference?
How did you know I was using Lastpass? I just started using it.... 0.0 It isn't activated on my FireFox installation though.
I have auto-login turned off for my Chrome extension for lastpass anyway.
Also, I don't use FireFox often...so this isn't a huge deal to me to get fixed today but I am hoping the fix for this issue in FF could help me fix it in Chrome (main browser).
Lastly, I have uninstalled FF since my last post and reinstalled without logging back in and I am still getting the same error.
Incidentally, if your Windows 8.1 system is a Samsung system, consider disabling and/or uninstalling the "Support Center" software, or at least updating it. Last year, it was implicated in tampering with the browser caches of both Chrome and Firefox, requiring regular page reloads to get a correct display.
Nope. I always go HP. This is an HP pavilion and so is my laptop.
