I used to be able to press a button and have my history or bookmarks appear as a sidebar. Since the new update it only appears as a drop down and it is getting in my way while I'm working. I have been told there are key controls that can be used to make it appear on the side and there does seem to be a button in the menu itself but these do not last. I am not good with computers and cannot really use or remember complicated keyboard controls and the extra button on the drop down takes extra time. Is there any way to put it back to how it was before the update or is that option no longer possible?

{ Ctrl + B } and { Crtl + H } will open the Bookmarks and History Sidebars.

There's a new "Sidebars" button in Firefox 30 Beta, but that will need an extra click to open the Sidebar of choice.
