Can't connect to one specific mail server in one specific network, other providers work.

at my place of work no one can send or receive mail anmore using Thunderbird. The problem suddenly appeared last monday. No changes regarding the network or settings in Thunderbird happened prior to this.

Here's what I tried so far and things I can rule out:

  • same problem appears on all devices (desktop and laptop PCs) in our office
  • our work mail server is online and working, I can access everything using the webmail-interface in the office network
  • new installation of Thunderbird without any profiles and fresh account confguration doesn't solve the problem
  • I can connect to our mail provider and send and receive mail when using my home network or my personal phone hotspot
  • I can connect to my private mail provider using Thunderbird while in the office network
  • troubleshooting mode doesn't solve the issue
  • renewing the internet connection on our router temporarily/once allowed some devices to receive mail
  • pinging the mail server (mailserver.[workdomain].de, no specific port) via command line was successful while Thunderbird was unable to connect to the mail accounts

IMAP-Log returns the following error codes:

  • D/IMAP URL failed with code 0x804b000e
  • D/IMAP URL failed with code 0x804b001e

I would be glad if somebody could help me out. If you need any more details I'll provide them. Thanks in advance!

i can still see my email folders but these popups appear for each email account in thunderbird (mac osx high sierra) never saw them before so seems something has been compromised? tried to screencap but it's only showing about: url but urls zip by and was able to catch the url a few times earlier but not now.

Hi, I have a Yahoo account in Thunderbird. Every time I try to create a folder, it doesn't appear immediately. I have to close Thunderbird and reopen it to see the new folder on my folder list. This doesn't happen with other email accounts, like Gmail or NetworkSolutions, only with Yahoo.

Thank you for any information on how to correct it, or whether other people are having the same problem.

Over the last week or so, I have received an enormous amount of scam, but no matter how many times I "train" the filter, it doesn't work.

I have just received another 3 from this site: mid:02guhjkj6-ABMcSHN6Or-JiC-000000@eu-central-1.amazonses.com, which claim to be from Madasafish Security>security@qi9adgongzenElptrum.de

I have tried on several occasions to follow the manual instructions how to deal with the spam, but I find it so log-winded that my non-techie brain, which is not wired for these kind of things, gets tired and I give up. If anyone has a more intuitive approach how to deal with this, I would be very appreciative. I have marked sites multiple times as spam, but the spam control ignores me!

Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

Note: I could not find the suggested specifications as indicated in the error message!

I did not change anything, the sending error occurred suddenly , all my settings IMAP Mail Server Port 993 SSL/TLS OAuth2 and SMTP Port 465 are still set to default. I changed also the SMTP to an new shown default 587 but non of this settings resolved the problem

Today at around 10am my thunderbird email client has just completely stopped working.

I don't see any problems reported have tried swapping from WiFi to Data and no difference.

I have multiple accounts connected to the client and all of them are not working.

Is anyone else experiencing similar or had it happen?

No matter what how many times i change this or that nothing helps. i have a big headache, and it isn't right to put so much stupid crap that I dpn't understand at all. Nothing is simple; it's not simple. I already paid a $20.00 for a donation so I can use Thunderbird. I can't even use the freaken Thunderbird. I can't figure out what the heck who ever expects me to do this, do that, than more of the same. All I want, is to be able to use Thunderbird, transfer all my emails to Thunderbird. Use the Thunderbird without alot of crazy ass questions, that I have no answers. If this is diffcult to read imagine how I feel. It should be so difficult to use anything, but it sure is. Even writing this, what do I gain, nothing, go away, lose the money I donated for Thunderbird. I would really really appreciate any help to help me sit up this thunderbird email. I really would. I'd like to be able to search for a single email address in TB's inbox. Often I just need to find one email from an email address. I don't need or want to do a "saved search" I just want to reread a specific email from a specific sender. I believe I'm using the classic layout. I've looked through settings, layout, but can't find a way to do that. When I looked through the help articles, etc, all that came up w/saved search. Before one of the latest updates, I could just type in the sender's name or email address, look through all of them, then restore the inbox to list all emails by date. I'd like to be able to restore that function, is there a way to do that?

Why hasn't Mozilla advised in plain clear English (well, and other languages) why this was done, and what happens to all the disenfranchised TBird users ?

I have a similar problem to others reporting a connection time-out. But the circumstances now seem different. It is getting worse. First thing today, I noticed that Thunderbird emails (current/up-to-date version) were taking several minutes to finish sending. After sending 3 successfully, but slowly, all further emails failed, as per image attached. My wife's computer, using the same email provider, etc, was working okay. I checked and compared the account setting, and they were slightly different (no idea why) so I altered mine to match the other PC. That didn't make any difference anyway. Then (a few hours later) my wife's PC started having the same problems as mine, as if it's a spreading disease. Could it be a virus? Thanks.

I am using Thunderbird for my emails since gmail will no longer support my business emails.
