Hi. I keep several Firefox tabs open and active on my laptop. Inevitably, Firefox slows down after a week or several weeks and would benefit from a Quit / Restart. But then (I think) I would lose my tabs, which would mean a trip to the library to login and get them back. If I do nothing, a superslow Firefox will usually mean my laptop eventually restarts on its own. Then when I open Firefox I see a "Restore Session" option, which brings everything back (I think I see Restore Session because the computer did its own shutdown). So, this does work, but I have a slow computer until the laptop does its own restart. I am wondering if I can initiate my own Firefox Quit / Restart which will give me the "Restore Session" option. It's so bad that I might have to stop using it entirely.

I've tried creating new profiles, disabling all add-ons, and disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection; none helped.

As you can see in the video (about the 00:16 mark) it randomly stops properly loading pages from the website, even in new tabs. The only temporary remedy is to either close and re-open FF, or press Ctrl+F5 (which I did at the end of the video).

I must add that it can happen even when loading the website for the first time in the session.

For years had bookmarks in folders showing on Bookmark Toolbar. Today they are all gone. Still in my Bookmarks on the drop down Menu, but not appearing on the Toolbar. Please help. Can't seem to drop and drag them there. Also, the Bookmarks Toolbar keeps disappearing every time I go to look at a new tab.

Back in November 2023 I had the misfortune of a software engineer not doing his job correctly and he reinstalled the OS on my laptop instead of repairing some software that wasn't functioning correctly. Mercifully, I have had Microsoft support working on recovering my data, which has proved a tremendous task. 4 months and counting.

We have now finally managed to recover my passwords for my browsers, but they are encrypted. Microsoft Support have therefore asked if Mozilla do a decryption tool as they cannot open the file without it being decrypted first. If I was using Microsoft Edge, they would have been able to assist as that is a Microsoft product, but as Firefox is a third party application, they've asked for assistance. By the way, these are NOT scammers or hackers 'helping' me, but Microsoft support and I get everything emailed about our support etc.

I'm getting the error message "No video with supported format and MIME type found" with mp3 files at https://www.gatherthepeople.org/test/styled-7/page-3/ when using Firefox 123.0 on my M1 (ARM) iMac running OS 14.3.1; when using Firefox 123.0 on my M1 (ARM) MacBook Air running OS 14.3.1; when using Firefox 123.0 on Win 11;and when using Firefox 115.8 on my Intel MacBook Pro running OS 10.14.6.

The same mp3 files (https://www.gatherthepeople.org/test/styled-7/page-3) play without any problem with Chrome and Safari on the Mac and with Edge on Win 11 .

Before updating Firefox to 123.0.1 (64-bit) + MacOS Sonoma, I could use FIDO2 on OnlyKey and login to my proton mail. Now, however something has changed on Firefox that I get presented with two prompts to touch my usb key, but the key itself doesn't respond to the second prompt and login fails.

I first get this prompt as before. I select 'Authenticate' and would be presented with the second picture. Since my key is not expecting to be touched, nothing happens when I touch it and login fails with the message displayed in the last picture.

Starting recently the firefox popups for website notifications are stealing focus and disturbing my workflow. I'm using i3 window manager and normally popups would have some id or class that can be used to latch on and prevent the focus stealing but the windows created now do not have any such marker.

Just recently been getting yahoo search engine results to open in new tabs rather than the same tab. I have searched for other users that have the same problem and have done the tracking protection thing and deleted cookies, but nothing helped. Also tried Troubleshooting Mode and it still persists. Any other ideas that may help? I'd appreciate it.

It used to be that all ticked device settings in Edit Mode, standard and custom, are selectable in Web Developer Tools / Responsive Design Mode. Before, the cursor, indicated by the blue outlined box as shown in the attached screen shot, wraps around the list of devices to show the other hidden device settings. But now, the cursor just wraps but the values in the list do not adjust to show the other device setting that are available to be selected.

I don't know if I unknowingly, did something that triggered the lost functionality mentioned above.

How could I restore this lost functionality so that I could test my website in all the device settings that I have checked in the Edit mode?

The latest version of Firefox I have keeps making changes to my computer every time I open the program. I have to approve the changes each time, why is the program suddenly doing this? What does it have to change on my hard drive? I don't like programs making changes to my computer when they open they are usually not to my benefit and add clutter to my computer. Please answer, so far no replies to any of my questions!!

I keep getting Firefox crash notifications during Windows 10 sessions where I hadn't started Firefox. On some days, I get multiple crash messages, in fact. Is this sounding familiar to anyone?

Been using Firefox for years and I allow the app to update when prompted. Thus, I'm using the current version. This started about 2 weeks ago and I cannot tie it to a specific event.

My old device has broken and I was wondering if there's any way to transfer the open tabs from it to my new device?

I've signed in to my account already and it ported over my history as well as bookmarks but I don't see a way to port over the open tabs? I'm not sure if they were synced and I can't go back to sync them now as the previous device is broken

Everytime I try to open a tab on my Firefox window, it loads for a second before a blank screen saying that my tab has crashed. The only times I can open a new tab is on a private window.

I am not able to load any games on Facebook using Firefox,the game main page loads and the spinning loading just stops and goes no further. All other browsers do not have this problem, chrome loaded fine, Microsoft Edge loaded fine. I was able to get it to work for a short bit last night on Firefox by totally removing Firefox, including folders last night, shut down, tried today and issue has returned. I have tried all the steps in the forums, nothing is working, why is it only Firefox doing this?

I am a scientist who has no time for local quirkiness and prefer to have the correct timestamp on all documents in Firefox. I do not wish to ever see any of this nonsense 03/04/96 trash on my computer since it is completely meaningless and hence is trash which needs to be removed automatically. 2024 03 07 19:19

There is this new pop up coming on latest firefox version 123 about opening favorite link on firefox, I want to get rid of it programmatically using java, which argument or preference should I use ?
