All my bookmarks and passwords just vanished last night. No update installed, no new programs. I was watching a film from a legal subscription service and firefox crashed and when it restarted, they were gone. I have tried re importing them to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and no difference. Chrome (which i had never used) imported the bookmarks and passwords I can't see from firefox so they are still there somewhere but firefox just shows a "cannot access bookmarks" warning at the top of the screen.

I need idiot proof instructions that actually work as I have always used firefox and can't get used to a new browser but need my tabs and bookmarks and passwords back.

I'm using Firefox 100 on Win10 and can't save any bookmarks. They do NOT appear under the App Data Profile, which would not be acceptable even if they were. This change has made it impossible for me to continue using Firefox, unless I want to go back to Win7.

I simply need Bookmarks to work the way they did before!

I have a list of clickable bookmarks that normally displays in the left side panel. It's currently missing. If I click on 'Other bookmarks' it appears to the right but is not pinned and doesn't seem pinnable. How do I get it back to displaying in the left side panel all the time as before? Clicking on 'Bookmarks Toolbar' or 'Bookmarks Menu' doesn't bring it up. I don't see any other options in the side panel nor do I see anything relevant under 'Bookmarks' in the top ribbon menu......? Hi, the backup files listed on the Restore menu are complete snapshots of your bookmarks for that date, and not limited to the new ones added on those dates. Do you want to physically delete the full backups from disk?

If you want to view/delete your current bookmarks added during a certain period, here are the steps for that:

Sorting Bookmarks by Date Added

First, make sure you have the Added column in your Library window (called up by Manage Bookmarks). To add a new column to the display, right-click any existing column heading and check the column on the little drop-down list.

Next, if you aren't sure which folder the bookmarks are in you can do a general search in the upper right corner (entering http will match most bookmark URLs).

Then click the Added column heading to sort by that column. This should group together the bookmarks added on a particular date so you can review and delete the ones you don't want.

Does that work on your Firefox?

No because I do not have an "Added" column on the Library window called up by "Manage Bookmarks." YES I would like to "Physically delete (permanently get rid of) "the full backups from the disc." I have yet to see a "delete" tab anywhere in this version of Firefox (92.0). I would gladly revert to an earlier version if it eliminated the current "restore bookmarks" list. How do I do it?

I recently ran an AVG cleanup operation. Afterwards almost all of my bookmarks no longer linked to their respective websites. I relinked the ones on my toolbar, but none of the other bookmarks are operative.

I use the sidebar to see my bookmarks on the left side of the screen. When using the Search bookmarks box there used to be an X on the right side to clear the search setting. That X is now gone which means I now have to close & reopen Bookmarks to clear the box. I believe this issue started with version 93 but I can't say for sure if it worked in version 92.

My Firefox has just been updated to 91.3.Oesr. Previously the lock symbol in the URL could be dragged to the desktop to save the URL as a bookmark. This update doesn't allow me to do that. Please advise.

I no longer have the bookmarks/history in the Firefox profile. Currently there are 2 profiles and neither of them has the lost info. I recently installed new version of windows and then connected to firefox but the bookmarks didn't show. Is there anyway that there can be done a restore from cloud to my account (restore date - 12-21-2021) ?

When Firefox is restarted after updates, or when starting from powered down, or when hitting the home button on the tool bar, I still get multiple tabs opened - none of which are relevant or links which I desire. Seems I've tried everything I can to get this to stop. How do i adjust things so that I just open Firefox without a whole bunch of ancient links that I have to manually close every time? Thank You. A few days ago, my Windows laptop was attacked by Trojan virus. Windows Defender totally disabled the laptop, and I could not even press a key. I had hard disk destroyed and the laptop, too. Because I intended to buy a Mac in a few months anyway. I attempted FF download twice, no luck. I think the M1 chip may not be silicon chip that FF supports.

Do you know a way to get my BOOKMARKS so I can export to Safari? Does FF keep them?

I have a backup of all my documents and I included bookmarks in that, on a removable hard drive USB3.0 The MAC doesn't have a slot for 3.0. Will require having to buy something from Apple to accommodate it.

Hate to do that if it's a fool's errand. I appreciate your advice. Senior citizen in over her head.

How can I transfer my bookmarks to Chrome IN THE SAME order as I have them in my Firefox? I know how to transfer them, but I need them in the same order as I have them in Firefox

Having issues with any tab that I open and navigate to a website that the bookmarks bar just disappears and I have to open an new tab that is not used just to get access to the bookmarks bar.

Not for sure why it collapses itself when actually browsing and was not for sure if there was a solution to fix this. I had searched online and could not find any solutions or anyone that has had the same issues.

I had a quick, and maybe weird, question to ask... is there any way to have two separate bookmark folders that are complete mirrors of each other? For example, if I added a bookmark to one folder, then the other folder would also have the bookmark added to it.

I sure hope the answer is yes! haha. It would really help my bookmark organization OCD! :D
