Hi, for about the last week (23 Feb 2026) when watching videos in my Firefox Browser, there are short stutters. First noticed in Youtube, so looked for updates to UBO and other extensions. Then noticed the same thing in BBC iPlayer and my4 streaming. It also happens when watching my media via Plex in the browser. It is not my network bandwidth or speed.

When I watch media via my Plex app or videos on VLC media player, there is no stutter.

I don't know if this is caused by a Firefox update, a Windows update. Laptop: Asus ROG Flow X16 (2023); Intel i9-13900H, Intel Irix Xe; NVIDIA RTX 4070 (mobile) Firefox 148.0 (64bit)

I use Firefox as my desktop (and phone) browser. Recently my desktop cannot open my USBank Online banking service (my Android Firefox phone browser works fine). The USBank customer technical service agent tells me that their software does not recognize the Firefox browser - he says that AVG Secure, Microsoft Edge , and Google Chrome work fine). How do I rectify this without changing browsers? I've used Firefox for opver a decade without trouble. Help!

Since installing the latest FF update (148) a few days ago, I have trouble replying to any topic on this site: https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/. Prior to this update, there was no problem in replying or posting to the forum.

I do not have this problem on any of the other forums of which I am a member, only this one. I can log in and read posts with no problem, but I cannot reply to any post. I am also unable to start a new post on this particular forum (of which I am a Moderator). There is no flashing cursor when I wish to post, and I also cannot 'copy & paste' a reply either.

I have disabled Malware Bytes, Dark Reader and AdBlock plug-ins, this makes no difference.

If, however, I run FF in the "Troubleshoot" mode, I am able to to post replies to this forum. I have reinstalled FF v148 twice, the issue remains.

Testing the same forum with Opera browser I can access and reply to the forum above, even though with Opera I use the same plug-ins mentioned above turned on. It appears to thus be a FF permissions issue. I have cleared my Cookies and cache but this did not help.

Do you have any other suggestions? I am a FF user from day 1 all those years ago and have no desire to change to another browser.

It appears thousands of others have the same issue with NOTHING affecting the search bar handoff to the address bar (changing true/false in about:config does NOTHING, v148.xx). Why not just do away with any search bar and do everything from the address bar? That way enough will be annoyed they'll find an operational browser. Like too many "upgrades," this one went seriously backwards.

Firefox memorizes userIDs and I do not see an option to stop it from doing so. Is there an option?

Keep in mind that passwords are not limited to the password entry. Every entry in a sign-in process is an opportunity for a password. For example, the answer to "What street did you grow up on?" could be "Beatlejoice". Similarly, the answer to "What was your mother's middle name?" could be "Aardvark". Nonsensical answers to security questions are more secure than truthful answers.

Again, in the interest of security, is there an option to stop firefox from remembering so much?

these shortcuts appear on my firefox home page are so annoying here is my setting , i toggle off all shortcuts related to history or sponsored shortcuts but they still pop up each time , i want to disable this feature i need only my selected shortcuts appear on home page what can i do ?

I know that there is already default containers built-in without the need of the extension. But there's no way to open tabs in containers when we click a link, only when it's typed in. There's an option in settings that allow to pick a container when a new tab is opened, but that's it. It would also be great to move the Mozilla VPN and integration and sync function from the extension to the settings page for easier access.

For the last two weeks the site "Oregon college Savings plan" will not open saying there is a potential security risk. The error message said it may have something to do with the "clock" but when i clicked advanced to see if that was the problem,the page would not open.

What seems like ages ago Firefox stopped displaying bookmarks I addition it would not add new bookmarks nor restore the existing ones. I've gone through all of the corrective procedures listed on and off but nothing works. As a final attempt I deleted the program and reinstalled it. No change. It seems to me that perhaps a missing file from another program or system is missing. Maybe!

I have been using an alternate system for some time. When installed it had no problem finding all of the Firefox bookmarks and placed them on the menu bar as "Firefox Bookmarks". I have no issues with using them but all new ones are stored in the current browser. Thus the new ones do not go into the folders previously set up. I've avoided moving them manually to the new system due to the volume but I am ready to bite the bullet.

I prefer Firefox but it's just not working.

Can anyone save Firefox for me.

i noticed there are many unwanted shortcuts on my firefox home page each time i open the browser can you instruct me how can i get rid of them ? these are not those shortcuts that i added by my self these are just unwanted history webpages that just pop up without my permission i attach the screenshot here .

This browser has been my preferred way to use the internet for years, after Chrome overloaded theirs with unneeded features that slowed the performance. I switched to Mozilla products because of their lightweight and private browsing options. Today, you pushed an "AI Kill Switch" instead of listening to community feedback that largely demanded the removal of all features using generative AI, and this is my final straw. I don't know who in the company is pushing for this, but if there's even the slightest chance of them reading my words; your product is shit and will remain shit for the rest of it's existence. AI features introduce security risks, slow performance noticably, and have such bad political pr attached to them, there's no crawling yourself back from this. You've labeled yourself as another ai company willing to burn all goodwill from your userbase for the percieved chance at acquiring profit. The bubble will pop, and you and your market value will go the way of every other internet browser that was okay for time but got too big for it's britches. You're an idiot for ever believing the ai hype and deciding to bet your entire company on the gamble. Firefox is, at best, only useful for downloading another browser, now. Way to become a direct competitor with Internet Explorer again.
