Hi,

I’ve just setup my Mac (Tahoe 26.3.1) again as it was compromised.. Now, I was very vary of which applications, apps, logs, certificates, …. etc are installed // running.

Unfortunately, I’ve crashed my Firefox browser as I’ve seen weird names on the settings section -> certificates. I’ve just deleted them…. Once I was done, I couldn’t load any website anymore. Now, I’ve opened up a new profile (Main Profile), migrated passwords, bookmarks and checked the main settings (not touching the certificates…). The Original Profile & Profile 2 are obsolete.

Result: I can load websites again, have my bookmarks and access everything needed but now, I can’t sign back in into my Mozilla Firefox account to keep syncing everything between my Iphone, Mac and my account (just in case I’m crashing it again..).

Issue Remaining: When I’m trying to sign in entering my email address the ERROR: “Unexpected error” comes up… That wasn’t the case beforehand.

Anybody with a potential solution or steps and settings for an idiot to check if they’re correct?

Probably the wrong topic, but I can't access two NY Times daily puzzles for the last couple of months after using them with this browser for more than a year before that on this pc and this browser.

I receive the message "Non-compliant action. The current operation is blocked by your IT administrator. Click 'OK' to continue." when going to https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html. That URL works fine on Edge, but I like to keep all my personal activity on Firefox and use Edge for my consulting work with clients.

Similarly, but not quite the same, Connections (https://www.nytimes.com/games/connections?GAMES_connectionsRollout_1130=1_ConnectionsV2) displays non-HTML formatted text, see added image.

Working my way through all NYT puzzles, 2 give non-HTLM text while the rest give the "Non compliant action error".

I would appreciate your help.

Yesterday I updated IOS on Macbook Air M2 to Tahoe 26.3.1. Today I had a problem with wallpaper and was in the middle of a conversation with apple when I accidentally closed the firefox browser. When I opened it and went to history, it did not have any of my history since the upgrade?

woke up yesterday and suddenly my browser is largely non-functional.

When opening a file browsing window to upload or attach a file, where firefox would normally open my OS's file browser (Dolphin) it now opens a hideous firefox tab with extremely limited functionality (no file sort/ search/ open, or access to most of my system), and the Download toolbar is now completely broken. Clicking a file opens a little dialogue box that asks "Open with System Handler?" and does nothing upon clicking OK. Nothing also happens on clicking the folder icon to the right, which would normally open a Dolphin window with the file in question selected.

Every time I see a box to enter a username or on some websites, any box that needs information filled in, a pop-up box appears that says "unlock your password manager." I was finally able to get to a website at moz-extension://b5ea3638-1832-4174-a490-4c5e77c0dbc6/html/index.html. The page says "Welcome My Financial Expert Password Manager securely stores, organizes, and autofills your logins, passwords, and more. Sign in to get started." Is this a legitimate mozilla extension? Is this a scam? How do I get rid of it (it's REALLY annoying!)? Thank you for your help and any insight.

command shift ~ (to switch firefox windows) does not work with FF 148.0.2 (aarch64), MACOS 26.3.1 (25D2128)

When I've had trouble signing-in to a commercial website, it often says, "Clear your cache." But in Firefox settings, it looks like clearing it will cause my frequently-used passwords to disappear. Am I reading that correctly? If it's true, how can I clear my cache without losing "remembered" passwords and other log-in information?

I'm not very tech-savvy, so need instructions in very plain, "for dummies" English. Thank you for any help.

I really enjoy using the recently added sidebar, but I want to put it away temporarily while watching videos. After some digging around, I finally found the simple keybind for expanding it (ctrl-alt-z). With the 'hide tabs and sidebar' option toggled, I'm able to open and close it at will, which is exactly what I wanted.

However, whenever I do this, the sidebar snaps to what I assume is its default size (picture 1). I usually use it at minimum size (picture 2,) such that only the icon of each tab shows. I tried to readjust it, but it seems to not snap to this size anymore unless I disable 'Hide Tabs and Sidebar.'

For now, I'm just going to temporarily toggle that setting on when I want it out of the way, and manually fix things later. But, is there a way I can have the best of both worlds? Can I make the 'default' the sidebar snaps to the minimum size I usually use from Picture 2?

I did not really know what happened but every time I opened home page, it did not load. It was working before but suddenly it didn't. I have tried writing "about:home" into search bar and it returned nothing. Just a blank page and an empty search bar.

I've checked the settings and it should be fine. Nothing wrong with it. I've checked the flatpak version and its ok. I was able to open my home tab.

I am using Firefox 148.0.2 (64-bit) Debian .deb.

Hello, I accidentally clicked on a new toggle button and it opened a Google sidebar. I also now do not have the ability to have multiple tabs open on the same browser. If I clcik on command-T (Mac), the screen goes dark. What happened? Can I get my old system back, without this Google sidebar?

Since I got my first computer in the 1980s the centered search bar has been the window for searching. It sits at a comfortable height for my eyes and is not surrounded by visual clutter. Since the address bar first appeared as an alternative for searching I have consistently disabled or overridden it. It is bad visual design; it is visually inconvenient, and to many of us who have used consumers for decades, it is not how a computer screen should look.

Now comes the newest version, which locks users into one way of doing things. Well, Newsflash: A lot of us want the freedom to use an operating system that responds to us, not vice-versa.

I think you are not making a lot of friends with this version. Rather than trying to spin it as something great, which it isn't, why not admit it's a problem, and rewrite it to make it more useful to everyone?

Firefox does a good job of filling in username and password prompts. Occasionally, it doesn't. The sign-in prompt for American Airlines is an example. Go to AA.COM and click on the "Log in" button. The prompt box labeled, "AAdvantage® # or username", is not filled in; but the prompt box labeled, "Password" is recognized and filled in. There must be something about the wording or the HTML used for the first box that obscures the requested information.

On new tab, all my added short cuts are gone and it doesn't let me add any. For example I want to have a shortcut to say... Amazon, but when I type or paste in the url, it still doesn't add it and the add button goes blue, not white. I have the shortcut feature turned on

So whenever I visit a website, or websites, they get added up with my shortcuts on the homepage which gets really annoying because I have to manually dismiss them everytime. for instance, I've marked them with the green circles in the picture attached here. how do i stop them from appearing here?
