AutoUpdate to 17.0.1 kills Firebug and Browser is so sloe it's unusable... don't you test these updates??
After repeatedly turning off AuotUpdate, FireFox still autoupdates and this morning it updated to 17.0.1. FireBug no longer works... the browser is so slow it's unusable (mouseover/rollovers take about 1/2 Sec to register, click events are the same). How can you relaese something like this? It's horrid!

Update your Firefox to latest version of Firefox and reinstall the Firebug addon
Please install Firefox 18.0.1, 17 is no longer supported and has known bugs that are fixed in 18. 18 is also up to 30% faster than Firefox 17.
You also need to update your Firebug. Please update to Firebug 1.11.
After you try that, please follow the steps at Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems if you still have problems.
