Accessing websites from history has stopped working (Firefox 3.0.5). Typing in URL seems to not work either. Bookmarks to same websites work OK. What's going on? I know I could upgrade, but I don't really want to.
I don't know how much more I can add. The response from attempting to access several frequently accessed websites is now "Done". I know the URLs are correct and the websites are available, because they work in Explorer. I have re-booted a couple times. Again, clicking on bookmarks to the same websites (when available) works fine. Toshiba laptop running Vista.

Why are you using a Firefox 3.0.5 version from 2008 and haven't updated to Firefox 3.6.x or the latest release (currently Firefox 9.0.1)?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
