problems sending emails via TalkTalk Takes along time and I get error message from Firefox saying cant send but they eventually do send

I have been having problems since updating to Firefox 5.6 When I send emails from my TalkTalk email account they take a long time to send. I also get a message from Firfox saying impossible to send but emails eventually are sent! Today, after updating to Firefox 6, I was sending email and same problem but email was sent twice!! Any suggestions please????
