That does seem rather odd that if the email address were public it still should be tucked inside the profile.

Click on your profile icon (or use Ctrl+click to open in another tab), then on the right-hand side of the page in the blue column click on "update profile".

Un-check the box that makes your email address public, and change anything else you want to change.

Looks to me like you used your email address as your username, because it is also shown underneath your posting when you updated.

there is only my e mail address listed - nothing else there is a box if u want to use your name but nothing in it - not happy using my e mail address - tried taking out my e mail address but that doesnt work

Sorry I see now the Display name is what I was thinking of that does not display on postings at all. What displays on postings is your userid because that is what is unique to the system. I thought it was something you could change yourself. I guess only an administrator or moderator would be able to change your userid if permitted in the software -- one got changed the other day, so they can do it.

I posted a request in a different part of this forum for an Administrator to change your username away from being your email address. I don't know how long it will take, but check your email for a response from an Admin of this forum as to the change.

I, too, need my viewable name changed. What is displaying is NOT what my profile says is my display name. I chose a pseudonym so that the part of my identifier would not show me in web searches. Why no options to change in profile settings? Please remove all but Pamoola55, please. If unable to, please delete my account altogether.

I can change your username, but I need to know what you want it changed to. :) If anyone else wants their username changed, just post in the community forum, and one of the admins will answer you.
