Back and forward buttons present but not working, URL doesn't display, reload doesn't work. Windows xp.
Back, forward, reload and stop also dead in right-click. secure page lock also not working, I suppose because the URL doesn't display. This has been the case since downloading FF4.

Try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
The secure page lock symbol has been removed in Firefox 4.0 and replaced with the How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure?. Unfortunately, thieves were able to construct a web page which would display the lock symbol even though it wasn't an https:// site. That could fool a great many users into thinking they were on a secure site.
