Widevine fails install, Ubuntu 22.04.02 LTS
Issue: When trying to stream video via criterion, progress spinner spins for about a minute and then the website delivers: 'Please try again in a supported browser'. Firefox delivers: 'Firefox is installing components necessary to reproduce the audio or video in this page. Try again later.'
In plug-in manager: Widevine is not enabled, receive alert: '...this will install in a few moments'. It does not actually ever install. In settings: Play content with DRM is enabled.
OS used: UBUNTU 22.04.02 LTS 64 bit

Attempted fixes: 1) Toggling DRM in settings. 2) Firefox & machine restart 3) update & upgrade terminal commands, separately 4) Changing VPN servers & disconnecting VPN (NORD)
Note: Playing videos on Youtube works, as does streaming music via Tidal.

Here is what I see. see screenshot Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla. Download, unzip, and run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
What desktop? X11 or Wayland?

I downloaded Firefox via the link you provided, unzipped, and ran firefox.bin (this created a new instance of the programme that I was able to run concurrently with my original firefox. The following information is pertinent to the new one I downloaded).
Still got the same error (verified play content with DRM is enabled).
Answer: X11. I've attached a screenshot of the desktop info. Sorry that everything is in Spanish! I tried the link that you provided for the trailer, and weirdly that works. I've tried multiple full titles on the platform and receive the same error as above, but that trailer you provided did work.
The trailer doesn't use DRM.
Make sure you can connect to redirector.gvt1 .com which is used to deliver the Widevine plugin. NextDNS has blocked it in the past.
