So over this. Have been using FF for decades. Why FF does now randomly forget my previous session. Works fine for momths and then suddenly all previous session tabs are gone and recently closed windows loads a blank tab.

And yes, we have tried all the supposed fixes.

Try this. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1420979#answer-1597405 I recently decide to learn how to restore my session manually.

Hi

Thank you for your question. This is something that we are currently looking into and hope to be able to respond to you soon with a more complete answer.

Are you using the startup setting to restore the previous session automatically or do you use "History -> Restore Previous Session" ? This might be best:

  • Settings -> General -> Startup -> Open previous windows and tabs

You may have to check "History -> Recently Closed Windows/Tabs".

Well, had another crack at it after the last Sonoma update and it is worse. Losing all tabs whenver we close FF. Shame - miss it.

Note that on Mac closing Firefox can be more complicated because you can close all open windows, but keep Firefox running with the menu bar visible or minimized in the Doc.

Make sure to use "Quit Firefox" with all windows still open, especially if you want to use "Restore Previous Session". Otherwise check "History -> Restore Previous Session" and "History -> Recently Closed Tabs/Windows".

Regretabbly FF 120.0.1 (64-bit) has no restore session and yes, quite FF sometime works, or if not allow 'restore all windows' work.
