Firefox 109 comes with the Extensions button in the Navigation Toolbar as the new way to manage your extensions. The panel that opens if you click the Extensions button (puzzle piece icon) serves as overflow area for extensions you install. The legacy chevron (>>) overflow area still exists but is only used for built-in toolbar buttons as found in the Customize page.

In the Extensions button panel, you can click the gear icon Fx91GearIcon next to an extension or use the right-click context menu to pin the extension to the toolbar (Pin to Toolbar). To (re)move the extension from the toolbar back to the Extensions button panel, you can use "Unpin from Toolbar" in the right-click context menu.

That is already known and doesn't work. The gear icon provides only manage, delete or report extensions. There are a lot of users since 2018 who try to handle Add-Ons that way. There is btw. no Add-On Button in the Toolbar-Customize-Window like in older explain videos and so on. I need to handle my Add-Ons.

I don't get the option with some of my extensions. To which extension are you referring? Can you provide a link to its page on the add-ons site?

In an older version of Firefox it works one time. Never after again. Which Extentions don't work? Firefox fresh installed: none. There might be one "trick": One Extention delivered the "Pin-Function" without going first to the preferences of that extension. But that is not a solution. Feels like more of a bug. It is sad that Firefox walks the same way of other software solutions: More and more functions, while loosing the basics.

Oh, wait it's worse on my other computer: I will jump to "recommendations" (over extensions) if I click on the puzzle-Icon in the Toolbar. There is no chance to see the gear icon. That means I can't use ANY Add-On.
