Sites fail to load, buttons fail, etc....

Hello. I've been facing issues with my browser where I will click on buttons, refresh sites, etc... and they will fail to load.

One such example is in the image attached where I clicked on a link on google and am noticing in the network that most of the calls are failing.

Another example is I will open a new tab, type in a search term to the URL bar, and hit the Enter key. The URL will turn into the Google URL to which the browser is calling a GET, but I am never redirected and nothing loads. The screen itself will be completely greyed out, as if the process failed midway (second picture).

To briefly note, I've tried running multiple antivirus tests, have done a clean install of Windows, and have even brought my computer to a professional to ensure there were no hardware defects. None of these resolved the problem.

Doing a speedtest I get 900 mbps download, so it's unlikely to be an issue with slow internet connection.

When redirects stall on a blank page, the first thing I always suggest is to make sure the redirect block didn't get turned on. Here's how to check that:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future. Since we are restoring the default value, I feel comfortable mentioning it.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste accessibility.blockautorefresh and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the preference is bolded and set to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

If that's not the problem:

Could you double-check content blockers. Both Firefox's Tracking Protection feature, and extensions that counter ads and tracking, may block some requests. To check on those:

(A) The shield icon toward the left end of the address bar usually turns a bit purplish when content is blocked. Click the icon to learn more or make an exception. See: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop.

(B) Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix usually provide a toolbar button to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you sometimes need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for this site.

Any improvement?

Hi there. To respond to these....

- Checked the accessibility.blockautorefresh and it is already set to False, so that doesn't seem to be an issue. - I've been reproducing my issue and when sites fail to load the tracking protection shield does not indicate that anything was blocked. - I currently do not have any adblocker extensions installed for my browser.

Still seeing the issue.

By the way, in the second picture, which looks like it opened in a new tab from a result link on the previous tab, if you try reload or click in the address bar and press Enter, will the page load?

If the problems are specific to Google addresses, maybe:

Several users have linked the "zero round trip resumption" feature with losing their Google connection in mid-session, including "Oops" messages on Gmail. This feature is intended to speed up website connections. (Explainer post by CloudFlare) However, there seems to be some kind of compatibility issue. You can go through the back door to disable this feature and test whether that helps:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste security.tls.enable_0rtt_data and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the preference to switch the value from true to false

After that, try Google again. Any improvement?
