Few times a day while using Firefox i get prompted to create new profile because I launched older version of Firefox (see attached). My only choice is to "create new profile" or "Exit". And this happens several times a day.

I tried completely removing all the profile from

C:\Users\wus\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and C:\Users\wus\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

also completely uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox but that did not resolve the issue.

Please advise how to resolve this issue.

There is a file in the profile folder named compatibility.ini which identifies the Firefox version used by your profile so that, if you are running different versions, you will need a different profile for each. You can create a profile without running Firefox and transfer data to it from an old profile.

Hi Terry,

I dont need help with managing profiles or importing data. My issue is that i get prompted to create a new profile even though i dont want to create a new profile.

I'm not running different version of Firefox. I'm running only single version as far as i can tell. I uninstall and re-install firefox and I still get a prompt telling me to create a new profile. I downloaded and running the latest version of Firefox.

How do I stop firefox prompting me to create a new profile?

Sorry, I thought you were using an older version. Another user has the same issue. I don't know whether it is your system or Firefox. You can check Firefox using the troubleshoot procedures outlined in various articles. A Windows user can possibly assist with system problems.
