I believe this started with 94.0.2 but could be 94.0.1. Looking at various things in Easysnews.com, for instance thumbnails, the title for that item used to change from blue (Unvisted Links) to brown (Visited Links) and keep the brown color until I exited Easynews. Now it does not. In another case, looking at my list of favorite groups, the group name will turn brown as long as my mouse is over it but it will not stick if I select that item.

I am not using system colors and Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above is set to Only With High Contrast themes. I tried the other two choices but they really created a mess.

I have also tried deleting any easynews cookies to no effect.

被選擇的解決方法

Found it! places.sqlite is involved. If "Remember browsing and download history" under History in settings is unchecked then the link colors are not saved.

Thank you for your assistance with this issue. I never would have found it without your help. I now have a clean profile and I learned about creating profiles.

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

more options

No change. The problem is still there.

Please verify this information; [v56+] Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar. Under fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. Scroll to the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.

Make sure you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the OS settings.

  • We have seen reports that this can be caused by a problem with fonts like Roboto or Helvetica that

you have installed locally and that might be corrupted or are missing some variants. Also, make sure you allow pages to choose their own fonts and that you do not block remote (downloadable) fonts.

  • If you use uBlock Origin make sure not to "block remote fonts".

Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

The link colors work correctly in a new profile! Does this point to something that can be modified in my existing profile? I don't really want to have to recreate my entire Firefox world in a new profile.

This was an interesting experience. I never knew about the profile manager

While we're on profile issues, I have another old one maybe you have an answer for. For 2 maybe 3 years now when I type something in the search box it will not search my bookmarks. I tried to get an answer at that time but without success. Thanks Richard

This means that something about the old profile was causing the issue. Since using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode still had the problem, it may be hard to find the problem.

If you want, we can move parts of the old profile to the new (bookmarks, history, passwords . . .)

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/address-bar-autocomplete-firefox Current Firefox: Menu → Options → Search → scroll down to Search Suggestions section and select or deselect the options you wish.

Older versions: Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. At the bottom of the page, find Location or Address Bar.

I'll give it a try. How do I move my bookmarks, passwords, etc.?

more options

Also, can I copy across extensions?

more options

When you are ready, we can start moving parts of your old data and Copy it to the new profile.

First; open your file browser to the New profile;

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder

Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.

Second, open another file browser to the Old Firefox folder on your desktop. Then open the folder with the latest date, or whatever one you want to use.

Warning ! ! Only Copy the files you are told. We will avoid anything that might cause problems. Here is the list of files;

cookies: cookies.sqlite Do not bother. Cookies will be created when you return to the website. However, you will have to log in everywhere. And you may lose any settings that websites store on your computer.

extensions(add-ons, themes): it would be better to download them fresh. If you need to remember what add-ons you had, open the extensions sub-folder and look at the .xpi files

logins.json and key3.db [v58+]key4.db : These are the password files. Copy Both !

persdict.dat : custom dictionary - words you added to the dictionary

mimeTypes.rdf [v55+]handlers.json : What to do with what type of file.

places.sqlite : History and Bookmarks.

prefs.js : Your settings. Note: If you were having problems, this could be contaminated.

cert8.db [v58+]cert9.db and possibly cert_override.txt : Stores all your security certificate settings and any SSL certificates you have imported into Firefox. If removed, the cert8.db, cert9.db file will be replaced.

search.json.mozlz4 : file stores the user-installed search engines that are available in the Firefox v47+

search.sqlite file and searchplugins folder store the search engines that are available in the Firefox Search bar before Firefox v47

Copy these files from the old to the new. You may get a message that the files already exist. Choose to over-write for each file.

I finally got time to create the new profile. I copied all the files you suggested except pref.js, configured settings, and downloaded & re-installed my extensions. Now when I enter something in the address bar it will search my bookmarks which is a big help. It's been about 2 years since that function worked. I don't know what fixed that. I've deleted prefs.js in the past trying to fix it.

But the link colors are still not working. Just to test, I created another profile and without doing anything to it, the links colors worked correctly.

I can see the benefit of a new profile as the new one has about half the files and folders. I've been using FF for many years.
