I am about to change to Safari since Firefox has stopped me dragging pics off Tumblr among other things. Contacting Mozilla Firefox is not possible. My question is, is there anything i can do to change back to haw Firefox was behaving or is it simpler and easier to use Safari who offer more help easily and which i can still drag pics off with doing a screenshot

Is this problem just on Tumblr?

What happens when you try to drag the image to... your desktop? Not sure where you are dragging. For example:

  • the mouse pointer shows a "no go" icon indicating nothing can be dropped
  • the wrong kind of file is dropped
  • something else

If you right-click the image, does Firefox display the image-related option, such as:

  • View Image
  • Save Image As...

If those don't appear, there might be a transparent overlay on the image, or it could be a background image. Those are trickier cases for saving the image.

If you like (and it's family friendly), you could share a link to a page and point out the undraggable image.

Appreciate your response but i'm on a Macbook pro, there's no right click, left click etc. I'm dragging the pics from Tumblr to a file on my desktop. Until last week there was no problem suddenly it's behaving differently. It's not a big enough problem for this level of complication. I've now chnaged back to Safari and everything is fine again. Thanks again for your input.

On a one-button mouse, Ctrl+click usually performs the same function as the right mouse button.

If you decide to try Firefox again, feel free to follow up. This thread will remain open for 6 months.
