backup open tabs
I want to backup my open tabs via a file copy as I want to setup a .bat file to do that once in a while. I tried copying sessionstore-backups folder but it doesn't work. When I try to restore session via history, pointing to a previous.jsonlz4 or recovery.jsonlz4 I get a warning that all my tabs will be replaced but once I click OK nothing happens at all.
I'm using latest FF 66.0.5

If you replace sessionstore.jsonlz4 in the main profile folder (i.e. not in the sessionstore-backups folder) with Firefox closed then you should be able to access this session assuming the file isn't corrupted. If you haven't set "Restore Previous Session" as the startup setting in "Options/Preferences -> General" then you need to use "History -> Restore Previous Session".

You can't use a sessionstore file to restore bookmarks as that is what I think you try to do. The way to use a compressed sessionstore file like recovery.jsonlz4 is to copy this file to the main profile folder with Firefox closed and rename the file to sessionstore.jsonlz4 to replace the current sessionstore.jsonlz4 file. You are normally better off with using the sessionstore.jsonlz4 file that Firefox creates when you close Firefox. You can also bookmark all open tabs to a folder and reopen all tabs in this folder to restore them. You may have to use "History -> Restore Previous Session" or "History -> Recently Closed Tabs/Windows".
As I wrote, I'm trying to restore open tabs not bookmarks.
I already tried replacing sessionstore.jsonlz4 file - it does nothing.
There's no "Restore Previous Seesion" option in the History menu.

Replacing sessionstore.jsonlz4 did the job for me. Thank you!
