I've been getting a blank page that simply says "Forbidden" when I try to access the site.

I restarted browser in safe mode - no luck.

I checked with two other browsers on my laptop and my phone:- I can access the site through the latest versions of:

Chrome 71.0.3578.98 and Firefox 64.0.2

but not Waterfox 56.2.6.

I cleared my cache, cleared cookies, restarted browsers etc - no luck.

I restarted my laptop and turned off my router for a few minutes - no luck.

I checked with a couple of server up/down sites and haven't reported any problem recently.

I used tracert from the command prompt to get the IP address http://82.71.205.12/ - again no luck

I also tried via a US proxy - again no luck.

I looked at the webpage source to see if there was anything that seemed to indicate it was limiting access to certain browsers - there isn't - it's a very simple old school site - the owner confirmed there were no such restrictions and he was not aware of any access problems.

Is there anything else I can try? Any ideas?

I had no problem.

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is the exact error messages?

The page source simply says "Forbidden" - that is the only word that appears in the top left of the page - it doesn't say 403 - there is no other detail I can add.

There are several things that can cause this. Most are not because of Firefox. It might be censorship, your protection programs, the website banning your IP address . . . . .

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

I did say I had restarted and tried in safe mode (2nd line) without any luck.

I have emailed and spoken to the person who owns and created the site - he has definitely not banned or blocked me or anyone.

It makes no difference if I use http:// https:// or use the sites IP address or go via a proxy - I get the same result. This is the only site I am having a problem with - maybe there are others that I am yet to discover.

I reinstalled waterfox - that made no difference either.

Nothing is being logged in my firewall which I temporarily disabled - it made no difference and in any case I am able to access the site through other browsers.

I wondered if it could be anything to do with site certificates - how do I go about checking that?

Hello lemonstar,

As your problem is with Waterfox and not with Firefox - maybe you could post this on Waterfox Community Support :

I didn't know about it either, but I figured that Waterfox must have their own support forum, so I 'googled' .....
