How can I make my mozilla browser to stop searching with Yahoo?
When I downloaded mozilla Firefox I realized that the search engine by default was Yahoo for some reason. I did the necessary adjustments in settings on the Top right corner of my browser to change it to google by default. Months go by, and now it has switched back to yahoo without me touching anything (I don't like to search with yahoo). Yahoo as a search engine does not even show on my list of browsers and yet I can't search with google by default. Any Ideas?

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc.
- please go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions & remove the "safe browsing" entry which sounds rather suspicious.
- also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
- finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner, which are specialised in adware and browser hijackers.

Actually as of Firefox 57.0 and later any locales of Firefox that had Yahoo as the search engine default was changed back to Google. So Firefox 57.0, 58.0, 59.0, 60.0, 60.0 ESR, 61.0 is not forcing you to use Yahoo as a search engine.
This is due to some other means outside of Firefox adding the search engine or due to malware.
For a time there were some people who got a malware called Yaahoo for example.
