I just installed the latest version of Firefox and 90% of every website isn't displayed. When I do a Google search, only the first item returned is displayed.

How do I revert to the previous version?

And, how do I prevent this from happening in the future. I no longer trust Firefox.

It is definitely firefox because when I bring up the same page in Chrome, it's perfect.

ClearType is a part of Windows used to make fonts look smoother. But depending on your screen, it can also make them look blurrier, so some people turn it off.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox and see whether that helps.

Hi BHealthy, if you disabled ClearType in Windows, Firefox currently has a problem with that configuration. To work around it, you can either:

If you have NOT disabled ClearType, then it may be a different issue with NVIDIA graphics.

I don't even know what ClearType is.

I tried that but it didn't work. What's weird is that if I click on a blank area it will show me what's there.

Can you tell me how to back out this update. I can't work like this.

One other thing to check, although it's not a solution. If you zoom up or down one click, does the content appear? (Ctrl+ or Ctrl-) That is characteristic of the same bug.

Firefox doesn't restore an older version if you uninstall. Instead, you need to install the older version on top of the existing installation. See: Install an older version of Firefox.

Yes, it does appear. Why didn't your fix work? do I need to restart?

Do you mean restart Firefox? Yes, you need to restart Firefox after changing any of those performance settings. If that's not in the article, it definitely needs to be added!

When I restarted Firefox after disabling the hardware acceleration it went back to normal, eventually.... Seems to be working now.
