I'm sorry but I really don't see why I should spend time fiddling about with my settings etc when the problem is clearly with Firefox, certainly judging by the numbers of other people complaining about the same issue - extraordinary and intolerable slowness after the upgrade. I realise Firefox is freeware and all that, but it wastes other people's working time to have to deal with issues that should not occur. Firefox should field-test properly before rolling out software. I am choosing to revert to an earlier version until the snarls are smoothed out. It and everything else on my computer works fine. I have lost 3 mornings' work through this problem!
