It says the site is not secure - "the authenticity of the received data could not be verified." It does not allow me to add an acception.
Bank's certificate is safe. If the authenticity of the received data could not be verified, I would scan the system against the malware. Maybe Firefox protected you from losing your money? Just guessing.

but I can use the same bank home page in another browser. I still have to go through passwords, etc. So I think something about RBS has altered that the fox does not like!
There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.
