How do I Export Firefox 57 passwords to LastPass? (Urgent)
Hello, I hope you are doing well.
How do I export my passwords from Firefox 57 to LastPass password manager?
I am desperate and running out of time. I have spent nearly 3 hours trying to figure this out, but haven't been able to do so.
Next week, I will be getting a new work computer, and only work documents will be transferred over from my current computer. Items such as software applications and their settings will not be transferred. Worse, I found out that only Google Chrome and Microsoft IE browsers are installed and can be installed, which means I won't be able to use Firefox any longer (I may use Firefox Portable).
Please help. Thank you.
I am running 57.0.4 (32-bit) on Windows 7 (32-bit) on my work computer. I do not have admin permissions.
I had used the Password Exporter extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/password-exporter/) in the past, but that isn't compatible with Firefox 57.
I tried to use PasswordFox (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/passwordfox.html) - which I have used on my personal computer - but the work antivirus thinks it's a virus and won't install (the developer is aware of this: http://blog.nirsoft.net/2009/05/17/antivirus-companies-cause-a-big-headache-to-small-developers).

There is no password export feature in Firefox 57, or any other version of Firefox for that matter, that would give you a listing of URL, usernames, and passwords. And currently there is no add-on which would add that feature.
- Open the Logins Manager (Saved Logins button in Privacy & Security) in Firefox 57, then use Show Passwords in that window.
- Use the "expand corner" in the lower-right corner of that window and drag that window to as large as you can get it.
- Take a screenshot of your Passwords, then scroll down to get the next group until you get them all.
Another thing that you can do is to copy the logons.json and key3.db files from your current Profile and then paste those files into the new Profile in Firefox Portable.

Thanks for responding. I am not used to technical stuff at the level of the .json and .db file, so I'd rather rely on LastPass, if possible. Is there any way I can get the passwords from Firefox to LastPass using the .json and .db files, or another way?

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Last Pass has had a spotty security history not one I would tell others to use. I use KeePass where you can create a portable version USB and not have to worry about how someone online is watching your password and with Keepass I can have a crypt password along with sync with the USB version and all have them uptodate. IMHO
