How do I put the address bar, tabs and favorites where I want them? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, Why can't I?

more options

I am wondering why those who create and maintain Firefox seem to think they know better then me where want MY tabs, bookmarks, and address bar. It is nice to be able to arrange them as one wishes. It it nice to have options. I just wonder why they seem to think that they know how I like it better than I do, and will not let me do it how i like. As far as i am concerned having the tabs at the top, with the address bar under it, and the favorites under that is like putting the cart before the horse, and then putting the horse into the traces upside-down. . It is completely back to front, and upside down as well. I wonder, has apple started to program Firefox, as they do what they wish, regardless as to user wishes...

Sorry, but the Customization feature in Firefox 57 was redesigned and is a lot more limited than in earlier versions. That was a "design decision" and not for us mere mortals to question - it is what it is.

Tabs at the top has been the standard for quite awhile now - Firefox 29 Australis in April 2014, although CTR did allow the user to change that thru a pref. Sadly though CTR can't be made compatible with Quantum.

Much can be done with a userChrome.css file and the proper code. https://www.userchrome.org/ https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx - tips from the creator of the old CTR extension https://www.reddit.com/r/FirefoxCSS/
