How can I make it run as fast as it did pre-update?

Ever since the update, I'm running at near dial-up level slowness. Some websites I outright can't use. YouTube can't even load the first five seconds of an advertisement for me to skip, half of the stuff on facebook( images, videos, etc.) won't load, and even all text sites won't half-load unless I refresh the page 6-10 times. Before the update, I worked all of this just fine, but since the update a few days ago, my internet has been so slow that molasses in January looks speedy by comparison.

Anyone know how to speed it back up? Or should I just switch over to Chrome/etc.?

hi, thanks for reporting this. could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there.

if yes, can you please copy & paste this whole section into a reply in the forum and see if the following fixes the performance problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

Accessibility (Whatever that is?) was already set to "true" and I couldn't find that option under the Privacy/Security section- even had two other friends look it over and they couldn't find it either.

Yes we thought it was set to True but have to confirm that, Thank You.

The instructions are Privacy & Security so Please Copy/Pate about:preferences#privacy in to the Address Bar and then Enter.

Go down the page to find Permissions and untick the last box prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.

You will find Permissions sandwiched between Tracking Prevention and Firefox Data Collection and Use (would be good to have Allow to Send Crash Reports on.)

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

That Accessibility Services doesn't appear in my Permissions area, or any other one, in my menu so I think my menu is faulty. At this point I have thrown in the towel and moved to Chrome. It operates even faster than my old Firefox did, I will continue to try to find something to fix this though, as I miss using the internet that had all my stuff saved, plus Firefox had some nice features.
