Completely remove a website from "most visited" websites bar of the "new tab" tab

more options

I do a hundred of research on google/google scholar/others dedicated search tools per day. Before, when they appeared on the "most visited" section of the "new tab", one click was enough to get ride of them, freeing some space for a more useful link. I also pinned some website to be sure they would never disappear, and it was an efficient way to go back to a website I only needed to visit for a short period of time.

Now, with Quantum, when I remove them, the icon stay and show an other search, and an other... I do so many research that all those websites appear in the bar, constituting a direct link to my last research. I don't need to get back to them, so theses links are useless, but they effectively take the place of others website I still visit frequently and would like to see here. I don't want to stop keeping my history and I can't manually remove them one by one (too much of them).

Is there a way to remove them efficiently, just like before ? To pin others websites ? Or did the Quantum update get ride of the ability to customize this section ?

hi, you can go in and edit each tile with a name and address you want it to point to & they will be pinned by default then...

Thanks. In fact I found it right after posting this message, but thank you anyway.

And for the 5 useless "links to last researches", how do I remove them ? 4 are even not functional as I cannot access the page they are linking to without login-in on an other web-site.

In the "most visited websites" panel.

the "top sites" section? as mentioned before, you can overwrite them with particular other sites you'd like to see there instead.

Ok, so I need to pin others websites. I can't simply click somewhere and see google (or others) disappear just like before. Unlike with the old firefox, there is no way to simply remove a website from the "most popular". So "most popular", will just be an other kind of bookmark. It will show what I pin there, and not websites I visit a lot at the moment.
