MacOS Yosemite dock: "New Window" item (recently) removed? Any way to restore?

Opening a new FF browser window from FF's dock item... never much thought about it, but it seems I'm accustomed to doing that -- a lot. As far as I know, this is the fastest way to switch from another context to open a new FF window.

Has "New Window" recently been removed? Seems to me, yes. Anyway, "New Window" doesn't appear for me after installing the newest FF version, 48.0.1.

If I'm reading the Mac tech docs correctly, items such as "New Window" are implemented by apps, and are not provided by MacOS by default.

So, any way of getting Dock-->FF-->New Window back?

TIA
