The Firefox Homepage says "Mozilla stands up for online privacy. Will you join us? Sign up to get important email updates and opportunities to stand with us."

And then asks for my email, first name, and country.

And then says "I’m okay with Mozilla handling my info as explained in this Privacy Notice." with an unchecked checkbox next to it. Below this, there is a "SUBMIT" button.

In the right hand corner of this is an x, it appears it is meant to make this go away. I click it, and it does not go away. It seems like ti goes away for a split second, then is back. I keep clicking the x, and it keeps coming back.

I do not want to fill this out. I will not supply my info. I will not check the box. I am NOT ok with Mozilla handling my info. I will NOT click the submit button.

How do I make this intrusive request for my info disappear? Or do I have to go back to another browser? Thank you.

hi zx7ninja, are you running firefox in permanent private browsing mode ("never remember history" in the settings > privacy panel) or have it otherwise configured to not use indexeddb/localstorage? in this case your setting to disable this snippet cannot be stored and put into effect...

this snippet will be shown on the default homepage for just a few days and is of course totally optional to fill out - if you're not ok with mozilla handling this information, then please don't submit it and if it is too much of a distraction for you you can simply set a different homepage: How to set the home page

I do have Firefox to remember history. I find it useful. Other than that, and having it set to ask for updates, all other settings are default.

could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
