I know all of that, but my question really was what is this program and, if it is not needed, how do I get rid of it.

If you still see this file in the Downloads Manager (Library; Show All Downloads) then you can open the containing folder via the right-click context menu if you do not know to what location you have saved this file. You can also consider to clear the Firefox disk cache.
