I'm using windows 7. Firefox version 44.ob1 when I go to options/security to look at my usernames, I no longer have the option to show passwords. they now show up as blacked out dots along the same line. Is this working correctly?

You can right-click the password field and click "Edit Password" or double-click the password field to inspect and modify the password. Unfortunately you can no longer see all the passwords. This will be 'refined' in following updates.

Bug 1121291 - Remove "Show Passwords" button from password manager, add ability to show password for single logins Bug 1208145 - Allow user to show selected passwords with a button

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Saved Password Editor {web link} Adds the ability to create and edit entries in the password manager.

Helpful response, which on this occasion has enabled me to do what I wanted to do. But yet again Firefox is being meddled with in uncalled-for ways that make it more awkward to use.

I finally went back and downloaded v43 (a non-beta version) and the password option showed up.
