I can't type messages in the chat function.

I use chat function to send messages to my facebook friends in the Windows thunderbird version very well. However, I do the same thing in the Linux Ubuntu, and it can be a nightmare! There's no space to type the messages!

So, what should I need to configure or this is just a bug?
