Since I updated to 34.0.5, my bookmarks in the bookmarks tab in the menu bar wont stay arranged how I place them. I use to have about 6 folders, and a bunch of random stuff bookmarked, separated where the folders were in one part, followed by a separator and then the random bookmarks. But since I updated, no matter the separator or not, the random ones mix with folders. I use to have to go into the bookmarks tab and rearrange them daily, and then noticed that it seemed like after a few mins, they would be all scrambled up again. How can I fix it to where they stay in the order I want, and like I had before. I am supplying two screen shots of what I mean. First screen is showing how the folders show up when I start firefox. the second is showing them after i sort by name and move the lone bookmark back to the separated area.

Are you using Firefox Sync to sync bookmarks to other devices?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
