Has my Mozilla malfunctioned?
My mozilla browser wouldn't allow me to delete cookies or any other data and it was saving info from encrypted sites ie: credit card no's. I could also place a cursor anywhere on the page. I made sure it was updated. Then eventually uninstalled it. All other browsers were fine.. Was it malfunctioning or something more sinister?

You have every right to be concerned.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Hi, When you try to Delete you Cookies, What happens? Can you please let us know? For more information, see How to clear the Firefox cache and Clear cookies and site data in Firefox

Hi, Did it both through the browser and through the control panel. The other browsers cleared.. Nothing happened in Firefox. No response when I hit tabs etc. I have uninstalled it now.I forgot to mention my credit card was hacked. I do not believe it had to do with this issue, but just to be sure.......

For future reference, there is a feature named "Caret Browsing" that lets you move the cursor through the page. It can turned on and off using the F7 function key, or a checkbox in the Options dialog. That might explain that particular symptom.
Caret Out {web link} Disables change of the caret browse mode by shortcut key(F7).
Hi guys, Thanks for the response. I haven't as yet found any malware, but I am still concerned. I have tried all those links { the first wont install- not a valid application) I was using a free version of Avira and despite deciding to use phone banking from now on {yeah it was a little too close to home} I want a proper paid for virus/malware etc protection. Is there really one that is better then the rest? From what I can see it is a little hit and miss.
Thanks
Quite possible I have turned this on whilst bashing the F keys to get something else to work.
