When I bookmark a page it does not give me the option to put it into a folder or to create a folder most of the time. And if it does then when I try to put it into a folder the whole "bookmark option" disappears.

Hi,

Please check if this happens in Safe Mode. Safe mode disables the installed Extensions, and themes (Appearance) in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Use hardware acceleration when available. All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and some types of add-ons in normal mode may require a Firefox restart.

I assume you are clicking or double-clicking the star on the url bar. Could you check whether you have the same problem if you open the "bookmark this page" dialog by pressing Ctrl+d?

This happens if I try Control D - which doesn't work at all, or if I click on the firefox button on the top left and try to bookmark the page through that it still happens.

I have not tried doing it in safe mode yet as suggested by someone else. It used to work fine in the old firefox.

I'm also having trouble with websites not working properly or links in them not working and I get an error message saying that I need to enable the cookies BUT they are enabled so I don't know what to do. I have started used IE more due to these problems. Pity because I prefer firefox. Angela

Why can't I use Control Alt T or Control D - neither short cuts work?

Angela

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
