I have set my password manager to remember passwords for sites. I have not entered any exceptions. However, it never remenbers any, nor does it prompt me to remember. I cannot use this feature because it is never visible to me. Any suggestions?

I never see any prompts which ask me if I wish to have Firefox remember my password for a particular site. Therefore I can never store any.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Uncheck: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"

Thanks, but that isn't it. I was not in private browsing mode.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Well, here's how bad off I am. First step in starting in safe mode is to "click on the Firefox button." Well, nowhere on this screen is there a Firefox button. It's as if I've downloaded some rogue version of Firefox. Back to IE??
