Safest way to migrate firefox bookmark/Login data from external HDD to new PC firefox profile

My old laptop died, stranding my Firefox profile (including bookmarks and Login credentials for many sites). I am able to connect the old laptop's HDD via USB to port the old profile data to the new laptop, but I am afraid that copying the older files to the new profile will overwrite the newer profile data. I would like to create a second profile, in which to store the old data, in the newer laptop's instantiation of Firefox, but I don't see any information online about doing this. Is it possible to create multiple profiles in Firefox for this purpose? Thank you

Yes, it is possible to use multiple profiles for multiple Firefox installation.

Normally, it is safe to move your profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-devices https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

If you want to manage multiple profiles, you need to install multiple Firefox in different directories: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/dedicated-profiles-firefox-installation
