Unable to see the VPN button for the new free VPN
Hi, I am on Firefox version 150, but I can't see the new free VPN button. I wanted to try it out, but I can't see it anywhere in my settings. Any advice would be appreciated.
I was following https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/built-in-vpn?utm_source=www.firefox.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=whatsnew-150#w_turn-on-vpn-in-firefox , but there isn't a button like it shows

I had a similar issue on Windows
Try going to a new tab and type about:config then type browser.ipprotection.enabled into the preference name then toggle it using the arrows or double clicking. This worked for me, hope it helps
I got this from here

I found this by searching with google. Using a new tab on your browser type in about:config a search bar comes up, type in browser.ipprotection.enabled if it says false then you should be able to push the button all the way on the right to set it to true.定位到答案原位置 👍 5

100% support Williamhw360's post from dandama2613. I did those things and could then see the VPN button and from there could turn it on.
Same here! Followed the prompts that willianhw360 posted from dandaman2613's original thread, and just like nath1... In two simple steps I too can see and play around with the Firefox VPN! Thank you Mozilla community! You folks are just the BEST!

Working on macOS , Thanks. No idea why this is needed though.
Worked for me too, thanks. (Windows 11 Firefox 150).
I got a warning that scared me off when I typed in about:config
