Add Shortcut Button Missing

I noticed recently that my 'Add Shortcut' button has disappeared. I've been through other articles and they were of no help. I have 4 rows selected for shortcuts so theres no reason for it to be gone.

Hi Cruz,

Thank you for reaching out! Our team is currently investigating this issue. Meanwhile, could you please clarify some details below to complete the picture?

  1. Are the shortcuts in your screenshot pinned?
    • If so, try (temporarily) unpinning one of them. The Add shortcut button may reappear.
  2. Have you set Firefox not to remember your history, or have you cleared your history? Maybe it's just a fresh profile? Asking that, because usually there would be many shortcuts of your recently visited sites.
  3. Have you ever dragged and dropped any of the shortcuts in the screenshot?

Thank you in advance, and looking forward to your update! Just remember that you have already done a great job raising this issue.

Hi, Denys,

After a bit of time, it just reappeared for me. I suspect it was probably just a bug, since the settings I changed didn’t fix it. But to answer your questions in case this bug shows up again:

1. Yes, they were all pinned by me. I tried unpinning some, but the button still didn’t reappear.

2. I have Firefox set not to display my history, so it doesn’t generate its own shortcuts based on it. My profile is also around three years old, so I wouldn’t have thought profile age or history data would be an issue.

3. All shortcuts were manually added using the “+ Add Shortcut” button. I did try using it again to add shortcuts by dragging them, but it still didn’t work.

Anyways thank you for raising this issue, as it seems to be completely fixed now.
