Missing Bookmarks after sync

Hello,

Today I was forced to reinstall my PC (nothing worked, a lot of problems etc). I was told that I don't need to use any backup for Mozilla (even if I wanted, my PC problems would not allow me to do that) because yesterday I've made a sync. After couple of hours of reinstalling the system I wanted to sync my account to get back my Bookmarks and turns out that sync does not restore them. I have all my plugins and that's all, none of the bookmarks. I've lost literally years of saved data.

How long did you wait? Did you wait long enough for the initial sync to complete as it an take quite some time (like several hours) to upload all bookmarks, especially if you have a lot of bookmarks (in the thousands)?

It's been an hour or two at this point but the sync stopped (as in all that was to be synced is now done) in a minute or two. It's like it resetted all my data except for extensions.
