Switching to new tab automatically

I have just upgraded my desktop to Win11 and have an issue now with Firefox.

I have When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately checked, but when I open a bookmark or click on a link, the new tab opens, but FF does not switch to it immediately.

I've done a search here, but only find questions on how not to switch immediately. ;)

I found the issue.

I use the Group Seed Dial extension as my home page.

The setting to open new tabs in the foreground needed to be checked.

All is good.

Thanks for the help.

A normal left-mouse-click on bookmarks or links should open them by default in the active tab or in some cases a new active tab. Go to about:config and make sure browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground is default false.

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?

No joy.

browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground is set to false and the new tabs open in the foreground in troubleshooting mode.

Can you give an example of a link that does this?

Does it still happen in a new profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.
